A Note on COVID and Health:
OUTSIDE and SHELTERED
Glass sliders to the outside will be completely open and some seats will be on the patio. Though we will be sheltered from the sun, we will have complete air exchange from the outside.
Seats will be socially distanced in groups of 4s, 2s and 1s.
We ask that all in attendance consider wearing a mask and maintain social distancing from others.
Please respect your neighbors and offer a smile or a head nod rather than your hand or a hug.
High Holy Days presented by Rabbi Elyssa Joy Austerklein & Friends
We are delighted that this year's Open Door Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in-person services will be held at the Hershorin Schiff Community Day School.
Rabbi Elyssa Joy Austerklein returns to lead High Holy Days in Sarasota. She led the High Holy Days for SRQ Jews Without Borders and then Ivrim Jews Without Borders for five years from 2013-2016 and 2021.
One of Rabbi Elyssa's special gifts is her ability to marry the tradition of well-known prayers and melodies with a fresh approach which is understandable, spiritually uplifting, warm, enthusiastic, and loving.
As a singer and songwriter, Rabbi Elyssa will be joined by professional musicians. Together, we will create a warm, intimate, and soulful experience in a comfortable venue or streamed online from the sanctuary of your home.
Our services are open to all, filled with music and meditation. We invite anyone who wants to live Jewishly during the Days of Awe to join us.
This year, three services will be offered in person and online. The complete schedule of services is as follows:
Morning Service - Monday, September 26 @ 10am - followed by Tashlich at the water
Kol Nidre - Tuesday, October 4 @ 7:30pm
Morning Service - Wednesday, October 5 @ 10am
Space at the Community Day School is limited to 100 people. Please reserve your seat now.
